In conjunction with the exhibition Copy | Translate | Repeat at the 205 Hudson Gallery, artist Leticia Obeid will discuss her practice, which encompasses video, drawing, writing and performance and examines authorship, distance and the experience of reading, writing, and observation. Obeid’s work on view at 205 Hudson Street was created during her 2007 residency at Citeě Internationale des Arts in Paris, France and is a reflection of the artist’s exploration of the city through Walter Benjamin’s unfinished text The Arcades Project.

Leticia Obeid studied painting at the School of Arts of the National University of Coěrdoba in Argentina and received a scholarship from the Fundacioěn Antorchas between 2003 and 2005 for additional training in video. Her works have been included in exhibitions in Argentina and internationally, such as Sights and sounds , Jewish Museum, New York, 2015; Doubles, MUAC, Mexico City, 2014; The Right to the City , Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, 2013. Obeid lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
