Alexandria Ryahl is a visual anthropologist and mixed-race first-generation American raised in a family of immigrants, war refugees and people of color. Her work explores themes of biography, intimacy, trauma and heritage throughout American history. Alexandria’s passionate belief in art’s ability to create positive social change has helped her deeply integrate social activism into her practice.
