New York based-artist Gabino Abraham Castelán is developing a practice that includes multi-media installations, object making, interior space design, and critical engagement with many publics. Social science literature is used in his work as a way to communicate stories that address history, culture, traditions, and memory while reflecting and connecting diverse identities to advocate for better meanings. Founder of the educational interior design organization Cultural Workers. Castelán is an Artist-Teacher at the Joan Mitchell Foundation. He was a participant of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Summer 2014.
