Néstor’s artworks have been of self-discovery, a series of confessionals revealing of a private conflict, while at the same time seeking to be political.  He exposes personal issues with body image ideals, food addictions, and dysmorphia, describing their mechanisms, classifying their origins, and how to fix them (and fail).  Through his works, he constantly toys with the idea of refusing reality and constructing a fantasy, but also reluctantly acknowledging the various states through which a body can undergo.  His own cathartic process hopes to connect with the viewer’s personal struggles, but it goes further by shining a negative light on consumerism and its intersectionality with obesity and mental health.
